Mason Jar + Cuppow + Iced Coffee
We’ve had a pretty amazing week watching our most recent run of Cuppow packaging produced by Fringe Union leader, and letterpress printer extraordinaire, Mike Dacey of Repeat Press.
The sounds of the dual windmills running across the morning and into the afternoon is a familiar sensation- but watching it produce packaging of our own creation, design, testing, and specification is something very special indeed.
This connection, giving ‘local’ new meaning, and having a level of quality control this extremely fine is something only attainable when these hyper-homegrown solutions are used.
But even more special than seeing the printing itself- is the relationship this production run is based on. It’s not just watching your packaging get made, but sharing a green juice with the producer. Petting the designer’s dog during lunch. Not just brainstorming, dreaming, and creating- but doing it in a space where your designer and printer are a few steps and a single sip of coffee apart.
It’s these type of relationships and this ethos that serve as the foundation of Cuppow. When we say our products are produced with love- we really mean it. And there may even be a few puppy nuzzles in there too!
Absolutely loving these ‘vintage blue’ jars! They were made to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Ball Canning Jars and like the rest of their products they are made in the USA!
We debuted the blue Cuppows at the end of 2012 and 5% of the profits from the sale of each one go to the Alliance for the Great Lakes.
For more than 40 years, the Alliance has stood to conserve and restore the world’s largest freshwater resource using policy, education and citizen involvement. They work hard with a strong volunteer network of residents, teachers, scientists and businesses to sustain and preserve the region for all generations.
